Width & Offset Calculator

Compare two wheel width and offset combinations to see how the new setup will sit — how much further out it will poke and how much closer to the suspension the inner rim will be.

What is Wheel Offset?

Offset (ET) is the distance in millimetres from the centre line of the wheel to the hub mounting face. A positive offset means the hub face is toward the outside (street side) of the wheel, which is most common on modern cars. A negative offset pushes the wheel outward, common on deep-dish or wide-body setups.

Changing the offset affects how the wheel sits in the arch. A lower offset pushes the wheel outward (more poke), while a higher offset tucks it further in.

Poke vs. Suspension Clearance

Poke is how far the outer lip of the wheel protrudes beyond the original position. Too much poke can cause the tyre to rub on the wheel arch or bodywork, especially over bumps or on full steering lock.

Inner rim clearance is just as important — if the inner edge of the new wheel sits closer to the suspension components (struts, springs, control arms), it can make contact and cause serious damage. Always check both measurements before fitting wider or differently-offset wheels.
